Enrolment Q&A via Zoom: Thursday 2 July – 9:30am
An opportunity to take part in a structured conversation about your child’s transition to school with our principal. Mr Buenen will give you some insights into whole school operations, unpack the transition to school and answer questions about the enrolment process.
School Tours - subject to current health advice
Wednesday 5 August, Monday 17 August & Wednesday 2 September. All tours begin at 9:30am and run for 1 hour.
Our school tours are an opportunity for parents and children to meet our principal, staff and students during a school day. Tours will visit classrooms, speak with students and give participants an inside view of our school. All tours are led by Mr Buenen and our deputy principals, Ms Stephenson and Mr Smith allowing for small groups and plenty of question time. Register your interest via the office.
Pre-enrolment phone check-in - Throughout Terms 3 and 4
Throughout Terms 3 and 4 every family can expect to receive a check in phone call from one of our executive staff. These quick calls will provide families with the opportunity to ask any questions and let us know how we can best support your child’s transition to kindergarten. Parents of children who may need a little extra support starting school can contact the school at any time to arrange to meet with one of our team.
Kinder play date for 2021 students on Wednesday 16 September – 9:30am – 11am
Your child and you are invited to join us for a play date hosted by our kindergarten team and student leaders from across all year levels. This is a great chance to meet the LPS team and other parents whilst your child plays with other children starting school in 2021. This session will be held in the school hall.
Transition to school mornings and parent information sessions on Wednesday 28 October and Wednesday 4 November – 9:30am – 11am
All kindergarten students joining LPS in 2021 are invited to attend a morning of school over two weeks. Students will participate in play, art, music and literacy activities in the kindergarten classrooms. Parent information sessions run on both mornings unpacking all aspects of school and giving parents some hints and tips to support their child preparing for school. Parents and children are invited stay for recess on the second morning.
Best Start Assessment on Thursday 28 January to Monday 1 February
All kindergarten students participate in Best Start Assessments before beginning school. The assessments usually take around 45 minutes and provide teachers with individualised information that helps teachers identify the literacy and numeracy skills and knowledge each student brings to school. Invitations to book your best start time are sent in Term 4.
First Day of Kindergarten is Tuesday 2 February
All kindergarten students will officially start school on Tuesday 2 February 2021. Parents are invited to stay for morning tea generously provided by the LPS P&C.
