Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community.

Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

Join our P&C

If you would like to help, please register your interest and availability by attending advertised P&C meetings, leaving a note for the P&C (hand in at the office) or contacting them by email secretary@lpspandc.com.au and someone from the P&C will contact you. This will not be taken as a commitment, just a point of contact for discussion.

P&C meetings

The P&C meetings are held regularly across the term. The P&C Association is the official parent body of the school, and involvement in it provides an opportunity to comment on policies and activities and be involved in decision making.

The key roles of the P&C Association are:

Whole School Meeting of the Village

Our whole school Meeting of the Village is held every second Friday from 9:10am - 9:30am in the school amphitheatre. Parents, other family members and friends are most welcome to attend. Each class teacher nominates two students to receive the ‘Student of the Week’ awards. The Assembly is also used to make special announcements and presentations. On alternate weeks, stage assemblies are held. Students at these assemblies receive ‘Leichhardt Legends’ awards. Parents, carers and community members are most welcome.

Volunteer at our school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your school community.

Throughout the school year teachers and the school need volunteers to assist in classrooms, at the canteen, on excursions, with transport to activities and around the school in many facets of our students’ education. Volunteers include, but are not limited to: parents; grandparents; community members; people who take children on excursions.

Volunteers will need to be screened and provide forms of ID such as driver’s license and a voluntary Working With Children’s Check.
